Seminar on role of teacher held

JAMMU, Feb 2: "National Seminar on Role of Teacher: Inculcation of values" was organized by B.N. College of Education.
The program commenced with traditional lamp and Saraswati Vandana by B.Ed. students.
On this occasion S S Bloeria, Vice Chancellor Central University Jammu, was the chief guest who in his address expressed his concern over the declining moral and ethical values.
He said that such seminars will help a long way to inculcate values in all sections of the society through mental revolution.
A.G Kohli, chairman B.N College of Education presided over the function, while
G.Q Sheikh, OSD presented the Keynote address.
The major aim of education is to humanize people. An efficient teacher aims at enlightening the hearts of individuals.
What is being done today is to educate the heads and hands but not the hearts.
We rank third in the world in skilled man power. We produce better surgeons, better engineers and better scientists but less human beings.
They excel in science without conscience, politics without ethics, freedom without discipline and knowledge without wisdom.
Resistance to evil must be developed by inculcating in their impressionable minds and hearts the basic human values- good conduct, righteousness, peace and love. Manju Dwivedi, principal B.N College of Education presented report on the Seminar.
Satnam Singh (former director regional centre) B.B. Goyal (HoD Business Management Punjab University Chandigarh) K.L Moza (founder principal B.N College of Education) Ranbir Singh Dhillon, principal Shaheed Bhagat Singh College Haryana, Lalit Kumar, Fatehbad also presented their verbose speech on democracy. peace and human values.
A total of 30 papers ware presented in which the speakers enlightened and emphasized on some of the latest and emerging issues on the theme of the Seminar.
On the valedictory session Jalil Ahmed Khan (Economic Advisor to J&K Govt.) was the chief guest while S.Harbans Singh (president Force & former Minister).
Beside this Ashok Kumar & Neetu Raina MAM College, Darshana Sharma DOE University of Jammu, Rajinder Kour, Rubina Yasmin (Govt. B.Ed College) Ashu Handa & Sunita Sharma (B.N College of Education) Taranjeet Kour (Principal KC College of Education) Irrha Sheikh and many more presented their papers.
The seminar is organized under the convener ship of vice principal Rajvinder Koor.
