| Club de Francias organizes function for French students | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 2: French club of Jammu (Club de Francias) on Thursday organized a function regarding 'France and French culture' in which two students from France were invited
Nickole and Megina were invited by the French club especially to interact with students interested in learning French language and know about the French culture.
"French club of Jammu took an initiative and brought these students to Jammu to give a real time exposure to the students here. We cannot take all the students from Jammu to France so we decided to invite French nationals to Jammu" said Arun Sharma who is the president of French chub.
This was for the first time in the history that people from France came to Jammu. Nickole and Megina delivered a lecture at K.C. Gurukul School which was appreciated by the students of the institution. "French is a great language and so are all the languages of India. French is the second most spoken language in the world only because the people of France respect their mother tongue. We rarely speak in any other language than French" said Nickole who is a student in a French university.
"To make your language known all over the world you must respect it and speak it at home" said Nickole.
These students came to Jammu despite the fact that the French government has issued a travel advisory for the French citizens regarding "dangers of movement in Jammu and Kashmir".
"We came to Jammu as the French club is doing a great work. We were told about the initiatives taken by this only French club in North India. French club is working hard to propagate the French language in J&K without any harm to local languages of the area" said Megila who is also a student in France.
She said that all the people in France were ready to help anyone in the world who is trying to propagate French.
Arun Sharma who is the president of the club said that such initiatives will continue in future and propagation of French language will continue. |
