| Education vital for harmonious development: Chib v Exhorts to take part in sports | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 2: Describing education a powerful tool for the empowerment of society, Minister for Medical Education R S Chib today emphasized the need for creating an education culture in the state where everybody knows how to read and write. The Minister was speaking at the annual day function of a public school at Bassi Kalan Village in district Samba today. Elaborating the importance of education, the Minister has enjoined upon the student community to concentrate on studies as it was vital for harmonious development besides polishing their talent. He also asked them to actively take part in co-curricular activities which was imperative for mental and physical development of a student. Chib said that keeping in view of the importance of education and co-curricular activities in the present day world, the State Government has embarked upon a massive programme to provide education facilities to the students in nook and corner of the state with better educational and sports infrastructure. "The basic objective is to exploit the talent of student to enable them shape their destiny", the Minister said adding that educational institutions are being equipped fully with requisite facilities to create congenial academic atmosphere. The students presented colourful cultural programme on the occasion which enthralled the audiences. |
