| Education is the most potent tool to dispel the ignorance for spreading the enlightment. In order to inculcate the education among seekers, it has been that different modes are used to educate and cater the needs of the needy ones through formal, informal and non formal means. But the true purpose of education gets defeated in the absence of review system about the amount and quantity of assimilation garnered by the educand. In order to assess this aspect, Examination mode is applied to ascertain the fact .In other words, Examination shows grasping power in accumulating the knowledge imparted to the individual by the teacher or by any other supporting agent .This remained a very pious tool to govern the calibre of an individual for decades together but unfortunately this important phase has been badly misused by the managers for ameliorating their own poverty over the passage of time . Rampant corruption has sneaked in this institution making it more ruthless, useless and susceptible .Its sanctity has been badly exploited .Sometimes, it instead of becoming a good boon for the education system, it has become a bane. Only those who hold the muscle and money power are now a day’s ruling the roost. To add to the dismay, modern devised means of mass copying through the mobile phone and impersonators have further eroded the value of education. A gentle and intelligent individual has unnecessarily fallen prey to his own impotency and genuine honesty and sincerity. The edifice of the education has crumbled beyond repairs. Where we are heading to, in itself is seeking an answer while groping in the darkness. The matter needs introspection and thorough probe to stem the further destruction of the issue .Education has been purely made commercialised. There seems that it is like a commodity which one can purchase at one’s genuine purchasing power regardless of one’s innate talent and capacity to earn by the dint of any hard work etc. If the persistent trend survives unchecked, then days are not far off when we shall be having a different class in the society boasting of being educated by the virtue of their sheer muscular strength and not by their hard work alone .Can such class be relied over ? Someone has to take the responsibility because the task is quite arduous one. Recently through media it has come to learn that new incumbent of Jammu University S. M P Singh has assured the student teaching community to set the examination pattern on right track. Undeniably, it gave a very soothing pleasure and encouraging sign to learn that New Vice- Chancellor of University of Jammu has assured student community to set the derailed examination system in order to avoid their sheer wastage of time, energy and undue prolonged frustration. This had been the long pending crying demand of the students. This is truly a welcome move proposed by the Worthy VC which if carried out would help a lot in overcoming so many additional existing flaws as well. But what is desired more is to locate the black sheep in the examination and evaluation conducting branches that have blemished the set- up by indulging in unfair malpractices. Firstly, both at the board and at the University level, examination centres are sold prior conduction of the examinations and invigilators of vested interests who have developed chain with the internal regulating managers are deployed at selective places .Such inharmonious relations fleece the gainers adding slur to the education system and the real merit oriented individual suffers a lot. At far off selective places and institutions, racketeers thrive this illegal business by managing to arrange the examination. Open mass copying is carried out and those who burn mid night oil becomes disadvantaged one .Again in the bid to declare results in the shorter span of time ,table marking is made out and paper checkers are over loaded with the papers. The checking is made so casually that very often we come across the results showing different pictures. Corrigendum is then made out to cover the lacunas. Why not strategy be made to place a ceiling limit upon every paper checker. Those carrying out the process are more concerned about their monetary benefits and least bothered about the quality of their checking. In this process, meritorious one suffers. Further ,during the re –evaluation period, again brokers serving as a conduit between the beneficiaries and the authorities at the helm of affairs cause glaring loss to the talented individual who has no say in any sphere of life except banking upon destiny and holding faith in God. So many times it has been seen that those who failed to qualify in their maiden attempt, manage good marks in the re-evaluation process but what about the fate of those who have qualified earlier but do not reapply hoping that what has been achieved by them is truly their own worth measured by the paper checker .May be either for the want of money or other unavoidable considerations hamper their outlook and do not allow them to re seek re evaluation and undue advantage is gained by unworthy lot . Hence it is utmost desired that keeping in view these factors ,these loopholes urgently needed to be plugged to streamline the system by curbing the ever flourishing corrupt mechanism for producing the genuine class of students who could serve the nation in true letter and spirit rather than those who rotten the set up more and disturb the equilibrium .
