Shivratri preparations, KP problems discussed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 2: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee was convened under the chairmanship of B.L. Raina, chairman of the Committee. The meeting was convened by S.L. Pandita- president of the committee to discuss the measures to be taken for celebration of coming Shivratri and to chalk out the future programme to get resolved the problems of KP Migrants. While addressing the meeting Vijay Koul- Vice President impressed upon the government and concerned authority to make sure that the regular and adequate supply of drinking water and electricity is made available on this festival. The CAPD should order providing of additional sugar quota to the migrant families and make available the LPG cylinders there at the camp site itself. He also said that at present there is no LPG agency working there and as such one be provided at earliest. Roshan Lal Koul demanded of the government to keep vigil on the rates of walnuts and other commodities needed to celebrate this festival and make them available in abundance. JTC youth chairman- Anu Koul and JTC Youth President Rajinder Dhar demanded of the government to get implemented the remaining portion of the PM of India's Employment Package for KP Migrants. All the advisors of the committee were present including M.L. Akhoon, M.L. Pandita, B.L. Dhar, Chaman Lal who in one voice demanded that the government should immediately enhance the cash relief being paid to the KP migrants. The meeting also demanded that the government and Relief Organisation should come up immediately to resolve the problems of the inmates of Migrant Camp Jagti. Prominent personalities present in meeting include H.K. Pandita, Rattan Lal, Sumeer Pandita, Vinod Tikoo, Ashok Koul and others.
