| Excise sleuths foils bid of IMFL Liquor smuggling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 2: The sleuths of Excise Department at Toll Post Lakhanpur under the supervision of Dy Excise Commissioner, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed foiled a bid of smuggling IMFL liquor from Jammu and seized 143 bottles of IMFL (for sale in Punjab only) a vehicle bearing registration No.JK21-3512.
"The liquor was being smuggled from Punjab into the State of J&K without the documents which is an offence under J&K Excise Act Svt., 1958 and rules made there under, official spokesperson said.
He added driver identified namely as Neeraj Sharma S/o Balwant Raj R/o Ohanian Teh. & Distt. Samba was detained and handed over along with vehicle and IMFl to the Inspector Excise Sub-Range Kathua for further n/action under Law.
The Dy. Excise Commissioner, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed has appreciated the commendable role of the staff and warned the tax evadersl smugglers to desist from such kind of illegal activities. |
