NSF stages protest against Peerzada, JKBOSE chairman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 2: The activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged a noisy demonstration in protest against the Minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for misusing his position to help his son qualify the matriculation examination in 2009. The NSF workers led by state president, Vikas Sharma assembled on Jammu University campus and raised slogans against the Minister. They demanded that he should be sacked from Council of Ministers forthwith. Sharma said that the Minister had brought disgrace to the chair and misused his position to help his son qualify the matriculation examination in 2009. He cited the example of removal of former Minister for Roads and Building G M Saroori in 2010 after the alleged involvement of her daughter in a private medical exam was surfaced. "Peerzada should also be removed from his position to ensure a free and fair probe as he may influence the inquiry by using his influence," the NSF chief said. Sharma also suspected the involvement of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) chairman, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and demanded that he should also be removed from the post forthwith. He pointed out the JKBOSE Chairman, who had joined the Board in 2004 on deputation basis, was still posted in the office in utter violation of service rules. "No official can serve any office more than three years and the goAvernment should take cognizance of it," the NSF president said. Among those who were present in the protest included, Surjit Choudhary, Ravi Choudhary, PP Singh, Shafqat Malik, Sunil, Ankit Raina, Manu Sharma, Vicky, Vikram, Nitin Chandel, Satwant Singh, Jagmohan Singh, Shah, and others. |
