Bhalla launches Rs. 29 lakh development works | | | Early TImes Report
Jammu, Feb 3: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has assured the inhabitants of Langer and Ambika Colony that their development related issues would be redressed in a phased manner adding that focus of the Government to develop all the poor basties on modern lines by way of providing basic amenities like safe drinking water, power, better roads, bye-lanes, drains, besides educational and healthcare infrastructure. This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering at Sawarn Nagar today after launching upgradation of lanes, drains and construction of bathing ghat (Tootian) at Shanker Colony in Gangyal and Langer village, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 29 lakh Bhalla said that Government was fully aware of hardships of weaker sections of the society and making all out efforts to mitigate them on priority basis, adding there is no constraint of funds. He hoped that the people will cooperate with executing agencies in effective implementation of development works in their basties. To deal with drinking water scarcity at Langer and Ambika Colony, the Minister said Government has prepared a detailed project of Rs. 3 crore for construction of two deep drill tube wells including laying of water supply pipes in these localities adding that the construction work of the projects could be started after completing tendering formalities. He said with the commissioning of tube wells, the drinking water scarcity in the areas would be reduced to a large extent. The Minister asked the officers to reach the people and mitigate their hardships on priority basis. He warned the officers against any laxity with regard to the solving of problems of the poor lot adding that any complaint in this regard would invite strict action against the delinquent officers and officials. |
