Three days Science Awareness Mela held | | | Early TImes Report
Jammu, Feb 3: J & K Students Welfare Society conducting three days science awareness mela catalyzed & supported by NCSTC (Deptt. of science & Technology) Govt. of India at Govt. G.G.M Science College canal Road Jammu w.e.f 31th January to 2nd february 2012. During the event the activities like science seminar , science talent test, quiz poster competition, scientific explanation of so called miracles, nature study activities besides model exihibition where in the students of Govt. Degree college Polura , GDC for Women Parade, GDC Gandhi Nagar, GDS Aknoor, MIER College, Govt. College of education Jammu actively participated. Workshop on Science through fun low cost no cost teaching aids, Khel Khel mein Vigyan, was also conducted by the resource persons wherein a good number of students participants was. The science model exhibition was also the attraction of the visitors, nearly two thousand students, visitors, guests, and common masses visited the stalls and interact with resource persons on the innovative concepts. The organizer Shabir Ahmad Shabir said that the basic aim & objective of the program is to develop the scientific temperament among the students & prepare them fully for the challenges ahead at the veledictory function. Prizes were distributed among the students who have shown out standing performance in the event like poster competition by Bharti sharma GDC Aknoor, Seminar Ramneet Kour Govt. PG College Jammu, Neha Sharma GWC Gandhi Nagar, K.V Gandhi Nagar bagged 1st postion in model exhibition followed by New National Hr. Sec School , S.D Tara Puri, K.V Sunjwan. The workshop on Science through fun , low cost no cost teaching aids, scientific explanation of miracles, food adulation were also conducted by Minesh Gulati, Jagdish Prashad, B.L Soni , & Akshay from Jaipur besides Mana Sharma & S.D Manhas. The cultural hitting different social evils presented by a group of students K.V Sunjwan headed by principal madam Shalminder were highly appreciated. Nearly 2000 students teachers/ common masses visited the sight of science model exhibition. |
