| Court frames charges against then VC SKUAST & Ors | | | Ealry Times Report
Jammu, Feb 3: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu today framed charges against Dr Nagendra Sharma then Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, and others u/s 468/471/120-B RPC and 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act SVT 2006.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal after hearing CPO Parshtom Sharma appearing for the VOJ framed charges against Dr. Nagendra Sharma then Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, Ashok Kumar Koul then Registrar, Iqbal Singh then Estate Officer now Executive Engineer SKUAST, Vijay Kumar Soi then Comptroller SKUAST u/s 468/471/120-B RPC and 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act SVT 2006.
According to the challan that a verification was conducted into the allegations of illegal appointment/promotions made by Dr Nagendra Sharma then VC & Ors in SKUAST Jammu during the period from 2005-2008 which reveals that Dr Nagendra Sharma then VC constituted different committees to scrutinize the eligibility of candidates award interview marks and recommended the panel of candidates on the basis of merit for the appointment to different posts.
The case file stated that accused persons dishonestly in gross violation of rules made appointments of Rohit Sharma, Anil Kumar Khokhar, Anitesh sharma and Upma Dutta (beneficiaries) in excess of available vacancies.
Vigilance Organization after conducting the enquiry in the instant case registered a case u/s 120-B RPC r/w section 5(1) (d) and 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 BK against Dr Nagendra Sharma then Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, Ashok Kumar Koul then Registrar, Iqbal Singh then Estate Officer now Executive Engineer SKUAST, Vijay Kumar Soi then Comptroller SKUAST and others.
During the investigation record was seized and statement of witnesses were recorded and today after completion of the investigation presented challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu against Dr. Nagendra Sharma then Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, Ashok Kumar Koul then Registrar, Iqbal Singh then Estate Officer now Executive Engineer SKUAST, Vijay Kumar Soi then Comptroller SKUAST, Vishal Tandon, Vinayak Vikram, Narender Kumar Raina and Ms Ankur Sharma (beneficiaries) in illegal appointment case.
