Fresh snowfall in Kashmir, minimum temperature increases

Srinagar, Feb 3 : The world famous ski resort of Gulmarg and other higher reaches were experiencing fresh snowfall since early this morning in the Kashmir valley, where the night temperature was several degrees above normal at many places, including summer capital, Srinagar. The Met department has already issued a forecast warning of moderate to heavy snowfall in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh and Jammu regions from this evening for five days as the Western Disturbances (WD) have already entered the region.
It started snowing this morning, much to the delight of tourists and locals, a hotel owner said from Gulmarg, 55 km from here in north Kashmir, said. It was still snowing, he said, adding that the upper reaches, including Khilanmarg, Affarwat and Kongdori, connected through Cable Car (CC) had moderate snowfall.
All heights in north Kashmir, including Keran, Karnah, Tangdhar, Machil, Sadhna and Razdan passes and villages near the Line of Control (LoC) experienced fresh snowfall.
