Bhim launches scathing attack on NC, Congress
Reorganisation of J&K
2/4/2012 12:19:03 AM
Rustam
JAMMU, Feb 3: Panther Party (PP) chairman Bhim Singh yesterday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and asked him to explain as to what exactly he means by "political solution he has in mind vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir". In fact, he sent a very hard-hitting rejoinder to what he termed as the "imposed Chief Minister".
Denouncing the Hurriyat Conference for its "drum-beating on this issue with an ulterior motive to exploit the innocent Kashmiris and browbeat the Central leadership", Bhim Singh also questioned the Chief Minister's "credibility" and said that Omar Abdullah is "walking on the crutches of the lame state Congress." He asked the Chief Minister if by "political solution" he means "holding of a plebiscite in Kashmir" and accused Omar Abdullah of "blackmailing the Centre as his father and grandfather for 60 years to enjoy power and amass wealth". His rejoinder reminded the Chief Minister of what he termed as "his blackmailing spree (read tactics)…he has been indulging in right since (the day) he (captured the) Srinagar Lok Sabha seat by rigging election".
Not only this, Bhim Singh accused Omar Abdullah of "hobnobbing with RSS and BJP right from the beginning" and went on to say that "he has been using the 'uncrowned prince' in Delhi (read Rahul Gandhi) to gather sympathies for him in the South and North Blocks, though unsuccessfully". Bhim Singh did not stop just there. He further charged Omar Abdullah with "managing to get illegal allotment of a government bungalow on Akbar Road for his family where the security police of J&K have been taking care of with half a dozen vehicles of Government of J&K". "His continuation as Chief Minister has endangered the security of the state as he has turned out (to be) a security risk," he also said in his rejoinder to Omar Abdullah.
As for the nature of the NC-Congress rule in the state, Bhim Singh said that it is "authoritarian and undemocratic", and added that present rule is nothing what the "rule of Abdullah family based on rigged elections". This is the "real problem the people of the state are face to face to face with," he said, and added that "as long as democracy is not restored in J&K, there shall be no civil and political rights available to the people of J&K". He further said that the "opposition (of) the Abdullah family to the (demand for) delimitation of (assembly constituencies in) J&K is a clear indication that this family rule shall not let the democracy flower in the state".
Bhim Singh not only took on the Chief Minister and the Congress, but also underlined the need to "find a respectable and legitimate solution to the political problem of J&K". In this regard, he said "reorganisation of the State" is the only solution available to tackle the issues facing the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Establish two civil secretariats, one each for Jammu and Kashmir; and establish "separate legislative assemblies so that the people of the three regions may live a dignified life and run their political affairs themselves without any interference," he, in effect, said, and added that the "cultural and political identity of each region can be protected only if the state is reorganised". "Let the echelons of power in Delhi continue their love affair with the ruling Abdullahs, no one shall mind. The Panthers Party has adopted its agenda for 2012 for the reorganisation of the entire State of J&K and the Chief Minister should understand its meaning…," he also said.
What Bhim Singh said in his rejoinder to the Chief Minister is self-explanatory and, hence, no need to reflect on the implications of what he said and suggested. Suffice it to say that Bhim Singh in his rejoinder underlined the need of isolating those working against the national security and reorganising the state so that the people of Jammu and Ladakh obtain what they deserve as part and parcel of the Indian society.
