JMC continues anti encroachment drive | | | Jammu,Feb 4 : Under instructions from S.C. Sawhney Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, while further continuing and intensifying the drive the Enforcement Field Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation led by Chief Enforcement Officer undertook the anti encroachment drive to clear the footpaths / pavements, parts of road sides in the areas of Shalamar (SMGS Hospital Gate), City Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazar, Residency Road, Hari Market Jammu. During the drive the team seized about 10 mini truck loads of materials / goods/ articles like Gas Cylinders, Counters, Tables, Crates, Bhatties, Containers, Dust Bins, Racks, Mats, Chairs, Stools, Utensiles, Plastic Goods etc which were kept by the shopkeepers / vendors by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements on road sides etc thereby causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movements of vehicular traffic. Apart from this the team also seized sizable no's of reharies particularly from Hari Market Area which were found stationary and also causing traffic hazard in this area during the drive. The anti encroachment drive has been carried out with active co-operation and assistance of police force led by Station House Officer Police Station City and police force from District Police lines, Jammu deputed for the afore said purpose. The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shops/establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults. The Rehari owners are also asked to keep their reharies mobile as the stationary reharies are source of obstruction for the free flow of vehicular traffic and also cause inconvenience to the pedestrians. |
