People's participation imperative for making JK a model state: Bhalla | Launches Rs. 20 lakh development projects at Gorkha Nagar | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 4 : Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has called upon the people to facilitate the Government in developing every corner of the State on modern lines adding that present regime is committed to provide all basic amenities to them at their door steps. Interacting with the people at Gorkha Nagar after launching Rs. 20 lakh development projects in Bahu Fort and Ambika Colony in Kunjwani, here today, Bhalla said for the convenience of the Gorkha Nagar residents, the Government has earmarked Rs. 11.14 lakh for construction of approach road to cremation ground and upgradation of lanes and drains. He asked the executing agency to immediately start the works and complete them within stipulated time frame by using quality material. Regarding upgradation of drinking water facilities in Gorkha Nagar, the Minister asked the PHE Department to lay water supply pipes in water scarcity areas and provide discharge of drinking water supply from 18 lakh gallon discharge capacity Boria Intake Filteration Plan at Kalika Colony. He asked the UEED to prepare estimates for modernisation of damaged portion nallah and submit the same for funding so that the construction work could be started for the convenience of general masses. Mr. Bhalla said Bahu Fort being a hub of tourists and pilgrims, the main focus of the Government is to develop Bahu Fort area on modern lines for increasing tourist influx in the area. Responding to the demand for upgradation of Government Primary School, Ambika Colony in Kunjwani, the Minister asked the people to increase the enrolment of students by admitting local children upto primary level so that the school status could be upgraded upto to Middle standard. |
