Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 4: Bhim Singh, chairman, National Panthers Party, who is also the Chief Guest of National Ved Sammelan while addressing a national Vedic convention of professors, intellectuals and experts on Vedic Knowledge in Alwar, Rajasthan, today declared that an International Vedic University to spread awareness about the unique message of ancient Vedas to the students all over the world shall be opened in J&K.
He emphasized that Kashmir has been the birth-place of those elites who manuscriptted the Vedas thousands of years ago.
He pointed out that the largest democracy of the world has the richest treasures of knowledge confined in Vedas and Shastras. He wondered why the founders of the independent Constitution of India failed to realize that this unique treasure of knowledge can only be utilized by the world fraternity through the master key the Sanskrit. Bhim Singh reminded the high-profile scholars of Sanskrit who were present that King Kanishka went all the way from Patliputra (Patna) to Kashmir to attend second Buddhist Conference which was addressed in Sanskrit. He said that Kashmir has been the foundation spring to spread teaching of Sanskrit thousands of years ago and the people of J&K shall feel honoured and proud to restart the International Sanskrit University in Kashmir. He said that Sanskrit flourished during the Aryan era and so developed the Vedas and Upnisadas in Bharata. He further emphasized that Vedas or Upnisadas do not belong to any religion but to the whole universe and mankind that's why the Vedas described 'Vaundhaiv Kutumbkam'. This is the message of Vedas and it is only this message from Vedas which can defeat the destructive power of the nuclear arsenals in the world he said Indian universities should take initiative to spread this message of universal peace and brotherhood by invoking the universal message preserved in the Vedas.
Bhim Singh was given a rousing welcome by the Chairman of the convention, Swami Koushlendra Acharaya Phalhari Maharaj. Swami ji highly appreciated the battle for the national cause and integration which Prof. Bhim Singh has been pursuing for half a century in J&K.
Swami ji also presented a shawl and a naryal to honour Bhim Singh. Singh was accompanied by Nasreen Hamid, Journalist, Jt. Editor, VOM, Anil Sharma, General Secretary, Rajasthan Panthers Party. They were also honoured by Swamiji by presenting shawl and naryal.
