Back to 'alma mater': Omar Govt ready to learn from BJP Govt in HP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 4: Though a staunch political rival of BJP, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah yet his personnel likes and dislikes have no place when Omar led govt see neighboring Himanchal Pradesh as to study the Panchayati Raj model adopted by the BJP government in the hilly state, sources said. Official sources said the state government has constituted a high level committee to study the functioning of the Panchayati Raj institutions and mechanism put in place for flow of funds to these institutions in Himanchal Pradesh. After studying the pattern of distribution of money at the grass root level for various centre aided schemes aimed at improving the health of the Panchayati Raj institutions the state govt may replicate the same to carry forward its agenda of further strengthening these institutions here in the state. For the purpose the state government has constituted a committee comprising Commissioner/Secretary to Government,Rural Development Department, Director Area Planning, Planning & Development Department, Additional Secretary to Govt., Rural Development Department, Joint Director (AP), Planning & Development Department, Joint Director (Co-ord), Planning & Development Department, Deputy Director Budget,Finance Department, Member Secretary, MGNREGA, Rural Development Department. According to the order issued by the state govt "Committee Members shall visit Himachal Pradcsh in the first week of February 2012 for a period of 4 days and submit a report to the Government in the Planning and Development Department." Meanwhile state government has accorded sanction to the Committee Members to travel in three Government vehicles to Himachal Pradesh. |
