| SP activists to court arrest on 29th Jan | | | JAMMU | JAN 16 The Samajwadi party (SP) workers in a meeting chaired by party president Sheikh Abdul Rehman have decided that from 29th of this month they will court arrest. The meeting was told this steps is taking against the functioning of coalition government, which have failed in stopping the growing corruption in the corridom of power, beside other burning problems faced by the people of the state. Commenting on the passing of the Roshni Act, Rehman observed that the said act suffers from various infirmities and lacunas, so much so that “Land Mafias” have been let loose, on one hand, while on the other hand, poor Kisans have to make heavy payment on account of levy, as a result their financial conditions would deteriorate further. The meeting also noted with concern the futility of the Legislative Council terming it as merely a redundant and parasite on State Exchequer demanded the dissolution of the said House. The meeting also demanded the Constitution of Delimitation Commission and allow it to recommend the number of seats to be enhaced taking into account the constitutional provisions laid down in this behalf.
