| SVO books tehsildar, patwari in Sidhra land scam | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 4: The state vigilance organization (SVO) today booked a tehsildar, a patwari and others in the 26 kanal Sidhra land scam.
When the scam occured, Omkar Saini was tehsildar, agrarian reforms, Samba, and Ghulam Ali was patwari. In connivance with Makhan Lal of Gadigarh, they were alleged to have manipulated revenue records and allotted 26 kanals of prime state land without any order of the competent authority.
Ghulam Ali had entered mutation No 262/jeem in revenue records after illegally adjusting an additional page in the mutation register of Sidhra which was illegally attested by Saini on August 25, 2006.
Makhan Lal had impersonated himself as Nand Lal in connivance with revenue officials and executed three power of attorneys in respect of 12 kanals of the land in favour of Showkat Pervaz, Mohammad Iqbal Parray and Abdul Rashid Wani in the court of law who further sold the land to different persons after executing sale deed.
A total of 26 kanals of state land was unauthorisedly allotted by the officials by misusing their official position.
A case under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of J&K PC Act 2006 and sections 467, 468, 471, 419 and 120-B of RPC was registered against the accused. |
