J&K boys secure third place in Kurash | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 5: Winning seven medals, including one gold, Jammu and Kashmir bagged overall third place in boys section in the two-day Ist Junior National Kurash Championship which was organised by J&K Kurash Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today. However, the team championship trophy went to Delhi with 26 points while Haryana remained runners-up obtaining 17 points. With 10 points in their account, state boys' had to contain with third spot. Similarly, in girls section, Chandigarh emerged overall champion with 30 points, followed by Delhi at No. two position securing 26 points. Haryana girls remained third with 11 points. On the basis of their performance, Vishal of Delhi and Meenakshi of Chandigarh were adjudged best players of the tournament in boys and girls sections respectively. In the valedictory function, Minister for Sports, R S Chib was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.
