Sham inaugurates Pawar Coir Manu Co at Gandarwan | Asks youth to establish their own ventures | | Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Feb 5: Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma has called upon the rural youth to opt for setting up of their own income generating units as per potential of their respective areas. He suggested for establishing agro-based units to enable the youth earn a dignified livelihood besides combatting unemployment. Addressing the entrepreneurs after inaugurating Pawar Coir Mattresses Manufacturing Company at village Gandarwan, near here today, the Minister said that it is endeavor of the Government to promote private sector with the larger participation of youth in various business activities to overcome unemployment. He said Government jobs are not possible for all, hence the youth must opt for self employment ventures, for which the Government has launched various schemes with attractive incentives in the form of subsidy. Lauding the effort of promoters of M/S Pawar Group of Companies, D.S. Pawar and Rajinder Singh Pawar for establishing their manufacturing unit of various consumer products in rural area, the Minister said that the step will go a long way in fulfilling the needs of several adjoining villages, besides the consumers of Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi districts. The unit will generate employment opportunity for hundreds of rural youth and supplement government effort in overcoming the unemployment problem. He congratulated the owners for this step and wished them all success. He stressed upon the concern to maintain standards as per the satisfaction of the consumers. The Minister apprised that in rural areas there is great potential of horticulture and floriculture sectors and people should switch over to these activities. He said there is great market demand of fruits and flowers and people must opt for multi-dimensional crops in the rural areas and earn high profits. The Government has established a full-fledged Fruit and Vegetable Mandi at Akhnoor for the disposal of local produce. He suggested the people to tri their luck in these sectors to fetch high return of their products which will also transform their socio-economic profile. He asked the General Manager, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd (JKBL) to establish bank branches, ATM facilities at Chowki Chowra and Gandarwan for the facilities of the people. He also asked the bank to encourage the rural youth towards business activities and extend liberal financing for the purpose. General Manager, JKBL, O.P. Sharma also addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative of Pawar Group of Companies for setting up their venture in the rural areas. He hoped that the company will fulfill the aspirations of local as well as outsider customers with varied range of home products. He assured that the bank will support them appropriately to flourish their business. He also welcomed all such youth who are desirous to set up their ventures and said that bank will extend them overwhelming support. |
