Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 5: Arms and ammunition have been recovered by security forces from a natural cave that was being used by militants as their hideout in Mansu nullah area of Doda. Official sources said during searches in Mansu nullah area, troops came across a 3 ft by 6 ft natural cave with a height of 5 ft. Its search led them to the recovery of arms and ammunition, besides explosives, the sources added. The recovery included 1 sniper rifle, 1 carbine rifle, 1 SLR, two revolvers, 1 UBGL, 1,356 AK rounds, 104 SLR rounds, 37 sniper rounds and 5 carbine rounds, 3 sniper magazines, one carbine magazine, 15 grenades, 25 UBGL grenades, 8 RPGs, 23 detonators and 40 gelatine sticks. The hideout was later smashed by the troops. It is believed that the militants, who were inside the cave, fled on the arrival of troops. More such operations would be conducted in Doda in the days to come, the sources added. |
