| MES employee among two more arrested | | Fake appointments case | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 5 : With the arrest of the two more persons including MES (Military Engineering Services) employee the Kanachak police claimed to have busted the d fake appointment racket here today.
The arrested have been identified as Subash Kumar of RS Pura, MES employee, posted in Srinagar and Mohd Qasim of Srinagar. The duo was arrested on the revelation of already arrested two racketeers namely Mohan Lal and Ali Mohd Peer in recent past.
The racket of fake appointment came to limelight when two youth lodged a complaint that they were cheated of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing MES job as a clerk.
On the basis of complaint, a police party of Kanachak led by SHO Rajinder Singh and SDPO Domana Sandeep Mehta conducted a raid at the residence of one Mohan Lal in Baba -da -Tallab near Samechak on Akhnoor Road and arrested him. On the disclosure of the arrested police also managed to arrest one Ghulam Mohd Ali Peer of Sopore.
During their sustained interrogation they disclosed the name of their third accomplice whom they identified as Khan Sahib @ Mohd Qasim of Srinagar who was arrested later. Later police also arrested the main kingpin Subash Kumar, MES employee, who managed appointment letters of 133 Battalion Headquarters of Military Engineering Services (MES) from the office he was presently posted.
During questioning, the arrested admitted that they duped four youth of Rs Six lakhs and in place provided them fake appointment letters. They further disclosed that to win the confidence of the youth they took them to Northern Command, Udhampur. A case under section 420, 468, 471 r/w 120-B, RPC has been registered against the accused. |
