| JKAACL organises folk music programme at R.S Pura | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , Feb 5 : Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organsed a folk music programme at Modern Institute of Education in Kir Pind, R. S Pura.
Various prominent folk artists along with parties enthralled the audiences with their performance in Punjabi and Dogri music. On this occasion Ramesh Lal Mottan, member Scheduled Cast Advisory Board the chief guest while Suriender Singh, principal , Modern Institute of Education presided over the function. Parmjeet Singh , Sarpanch, Ashok Sharma, Station House Officer were the special guests while Comrade Amichand Panch , Dewan Chand Bhagat, Ram Dhan , Darshan Lal and Hemant Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Motton said there is lot of talent among the youth of the state and cultural academy should provide a platform to the young people. He said that Jammu and Kashmir has a rich cultural heritage and it should be showcased to the world. He said that more such events should be organised in rural areas of the region as youth seldom get opportunities.
The prominent folk parties who gave their scintillating performances included Suman Lata, Sunny Lakhotra, Thoru Ram, Kewal Kumar Lehria, Kuldeep Raj and Ved Parkash.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan incharge programme conducted the proceeding of the programme and also presented vote of thanks . |
