JPPF flays administration over 'minority threatening' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 5: Jammu Province People's Forum (JPPF) an amalgam of more than 50 social, commercial and other organizations expressed its concerns over the 'Mendher Episode' where a member of majority community bashed and threatened the female belonging to minority community on the other day. The President of the Forum while talking to the media persons said that the miscreants keep on destroying the social fabric of the society but the Govt. fails to curve such activities and it is shocking to note that incident which took place in the city was the brainchild of the brother of the local leader. Pertinent to mention that a widow in Mendhar of Poonch district was harassed and manhandled early this month and on Feb 1, the locals also had observed a total shut down demanding immediate arrest of culprits involved in manhandling of the widow. According to police, a group of five persons led by an advocate, Mohammad Ahmad Khan, barged into the house of Champa Devi, superintendent of Nari Niketan, on Jan 31 and misbehaved with her.
