| Congress being roundly denounced by many parties, including allies | | Omar Praises Mamata -- II | | Rustam Jammu, Feb 5: The attitude of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah towards the Congress is also no different. He doesn't appreciate many stands of the Congress and even praises West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) president Mamata Banerjee. For example, Omar Abdullah did not appreciate what was done to Salman Rushdie, a recognised author. Rushdie was not allowed by the fanatics to come to Jaipur to participate in the Literary Festival last December. The Congress made common cause with the fanatics and created a situation that forced Rushdie to cancel his Jaipur trip. Omar Abdullah also didn't like the move of the Union Government to impose restrictions on the social networking websites. Not only this, he appreciated Mamata Bannerjee and suggested that West Bengal would achieve all round development under her leadership. He made this suggestion at a time when Mamata had taken on the Congress saying it had been taking the TMC for a ride and violating coalition dharma. Everyone knows that Omar Abdullah is in power only because of the Congress. Everyone also knows what the TMC did to Congress in the last winter session of the Parliament. It is not only the opposition parties and the parties like the TMC, the NCP, the BSP, the DMK, the RJD and the SP which have been attacking the Congress and its policies. Even the Supreme Court of India and the Comptroller and Auditor-General have not spared the Congress and the Congress-led coalition government, called UPA Government. The Supreme Court has during the last nearly two years censured the Union Government a number of times. It is because of the Supreme Court that the Union Government acted against A Raja and several others, including bureaucrats, allegedly involved in the 2G spectrum scam. It was also because of the Supreme Court that the Union Government acted in the Common Wealth Games scam. So much so that the Supreme Court censured the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on the issue of A Raja and others, cancelled 122 spectrum licenses and told the Union Government that it did not act fairly while dealing with the application of General VK Singh dealing with his age. The Supreme Court charged the Defence Ministry with "vitiating" the process. But these are only a few instances. There are many others. Likewise, the Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) blackened the Congress's face beyond recognition by stating and restating that the 2G spectrum scam caused a loss of Rs 176 lakh crore to the public exchequer. The CAG even held a press conference to inform the public about the loss the nation suffered because of this scam. Remember, Telecom Minister Kapil had dismissed the CAG report as trash and shamelessly asserted that there was "zero loss". In fact, what the CAG had said was also upheld by the Supreme Court of India only three days ago. But the Congress leadership has become so thick-skinned that it continues to defend the indefensible. It's no wonder then that the thinking people across the country are despising the Congress and contemptuously dismissing it as the "most corrupt" and unprincipled political party. They want that this party must wither away in the national interest. Such is the attitude of the thinking people of the country towards the Congress which is led and fully controlled by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and such is their attitude towards the UPA Government, which is being led by Manmohan Singh.
