Bid to smuggle bovine thwarted | | | Early Times Reprot JAMMU, Feb 06: In continuation to drive launched by the district police Kathua to nab the drug peddlers, bovine smugglers police today intercepted one load carrier bearing registration No- JK08B-1429 which was on way from Jammu to Punjab carrying bovines illegally. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot leaving behind vehicle loaded with 5 Bovine including one dead. After preliminary enquiry it was established that these bovine animals were being smuggled from Jammu to Punjab illegally. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused. A Case FIR No-15/2012 U/S 188 RPC 3PCA Act Stands registered at PS Rajbagh. Further a police party of PS Hiranagar on specific information laid down a Naka near Dayala Chak (Sallan) and intercepted a Truck bearing registration No. JK02 AD-0638 which was on way from Punjab to J&K State. As soon as the driver noticed the police Naka, he along with his associates managed to escape from the spot leaving behind vehicle loaded with 8 oxen. After preliminary enquiry it was established that these bovine animals were being smuggled from Punjab to J&K state illegally .Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused . A Case FIR No.-16/2012 U/S 188 RPC, 3PCA Act stands registered at P/S Hiranagar.
