Kabaddi Association felicitates officials, coach | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 6: For representing the country as technical officials and coach, Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association today felicitated three individuals in a function held here this afternoon. These senior members of the Association were presented conferred Maharaja Jambhu Lochan Sports, including a trophy, citation and cash incentive of Rs 21,000 each by Minister for Sports, R S Chib, who was special invitee. General secretary of the Association, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta was selected for representing country as technical official in the 14th Asian Games held at Busan in Korea in 2002 and 2010 Asian Games in China. Another technical official, Dinesh Gupta was part of the Indian team in the 13th Asian Games at Bangkok in 1998. Another awardee, Bhupinder Singh Tirthi, who is also general secretary of J&K Kho-Kho Association, represented the gold winning Indian kabaddi team as chief coach in 9th SAF Games held at Islamabad in Pakistan in 2002. Earlier, Minister appreciated the efforts of president of the Association, Anil Gupta for promoting the game of kabaddi by different means. Among others present were Director Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), JP Singh and secretary, J&K Olympic Association, Ashutosh Sharma and Association vice-president, Anil Padha as also Sports Officer of the Sports Council, Rajan Sharma. |
