Jammu, Feb 6: With a view to provide Hindi short story writers a platform for airing their views on modern trends in short story writing a day long Hindi short story seminar was held at K.L. Saigal Hall here on Monday. Organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the seminar was presided over by noted Hindi literatteur, Prof. PN Trisal while Dr. Sanjana Koul was the chief guest on the occasion. In his presidential address Trisal appreciated Academy's endeavor in holding the event and said that such programmes were needed as they provided productive platform for constructive literary debate. Echoing similar sentiments Sanjana Koul said that short story writing was an art of high level expression and needed to be viewed in that perspective. She impressed upon the local writers that they should read more and more western writings as they were more thought provoking than the one's produced regionally.
