Camp for female development held | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Feb 6 : An awareness camp under the Indira Gandhi Matritva Sehyog Yojna Scheme was organized by CDPO, Barnoti at village Nanan here at Kathua today. As per the press release issued by the Child Development Project Officer, Barnoti more than two hundred people including women, adolescent girl, medical staff, school teachers, ward members, Aganwari workers, supervisors attended the camp. Pertinent to mention here that the IGMSY scheme aims to provide financial aid to pregnant ladies and lactating women amounting to Rs 4000 in three installments with specific conditions related to maternal and child health. It was further disclosed by the CDPO, ICDS Project Barnoti Kamlesh Choudhary that Rs 25 lac has been given to 1084 eligible women under the scheme and amount of more than Rs 30 lac is likely to be given to the registered beneficiaries up to the ending march 2012. It was also apprised that more than 8000 beneficiaries are getting supplementary nutrition and benefits of free school education to children through 258 Angadwadi Centres functioning under ICDS, Barnoti. Such camps were also organized in villages Bhallar, Mahal, Palli, Juthana, Boura, Chack Haria and others villages falling in far flung areas. |
