Five structures damaged due to snow in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 6 : A number of families had a narrow escape after their four kothars and a house were damaged by a snow avalanche and a tree in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said here today. They said a devdar tree fell on the house of one Ghulam Nabi Sheikh at Khudhalan Girdnawa under Boniyar police station in Baramulla district. All the family members were rescued and later shifted to other house. No one was injured, they said. They said four kothas belonging to Ibrahim Teedwa, Ghulam Hassan Thakery, Mughal Teedwa and Tajdin Khan were damaged due to snow avalanche at Rezen Ganderbal in the central Kashmir. However, the family members escaped unhurt, they said. The Disaster Management has already issued avalanche warning in upper reaches in the Kashmir valley following heavy snowfall recently. |
