Training programme for mediators, referral judges conclude

Udhampur, Feb 6:Six days training programme for mediators and referral judges of district courts Udhampur and Reasi district concluded today in the conference hall of Dy.Commissioner Udhampur.
Programme was organized by the mediators and conciliators Project Committee, Supreme Court of India in collaboration with main mediation committee High court of J&K .
On the concluding day Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jain, and Sangita Dingra Sehgal district judges of Delhi Higher Judicial services and trainer from Delhi Mediation Center gave overall view of the process of mediation , role of mediators and referral judges , ethics and code of conduct for mediations , the aims and objective of the training programme were also high lighted.
Sufficient material for enriching the knowledge of the mediators was also circulated.
Speaking on the occasion Brij Mohan Gupta ,Pr. Distt. & Sessions Udhampur gave a brief account of the concept of the mediation.
He appreciated the pragmatic approach of the proposed mediators and the trainers in making the six days training programme a great success.
He hoped that this process of dispute resolution will go a long way in serving the suffering of the common masses and expeditious disposal of the cases.
He further stressed that a resolution of disputes through mediation will save time, energy and cost of litigant public.
Rajesh Sekhri Pr.District Judge, Reasi also highlighted the importance of mediation as alternate dispute resolution mechanism.
Meanwhile K. K. Dubey, President bar association Reasi and Rajesh Gupta President Bar Association Udhampur expressed their experience during the training programme .
They appreciated the role of the trainers and host judges for organizing this valuable programme and selecting them to be part of the same.
M.K.Sharma Addl. distt. & sessions judge Udhampur thanked the trainers as well as proposed mediators for sparing their valuable time in making this concept of mediation practical in the times to come.
