| Naib Sarpanch joins NC, Rs one lakh for development | | | ET Report
Jammu, Feb 6: The cruel joke in democratic set up is complete when a Naib Sarpanch of Panchayat Khanpur in Nagrota assembly constituency has joined the NC and it terms it a great victory.
A press release full of every set of 'applauding adjectives' for the NC leadership was issued today further claiming that after joining the NC the Naib Sarpanch has also criticized the "divisive politics of the PDP aiming at grabbing power and unleashing false propaganda".
However the press release fails to serve its purpose as it falls under its own weight. Who is indulging in divisive politics by claiming a Naib Sarpanch joining the NC as a great victory?
Interestingly, the NC Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta welcoming the new entrants into the party which also include the Naib Sarpanch, some Panches and a JD leader perhaps the party which is welcoming the new faces in party folds itself doesn't know who had joined them.
The NC Provincial President has said Rs One lakh has been given by the Chief Minister to each Panchayat to undertake development work. Whether it is NC's ideology or the announcement of Rs One lakh has attracted the PDP leader the NC provincial president has utterly failed to comment on but the party leadership knows the better.
Doesn't he know that Rs. one lakh is for renovation of the Panchayat buildings which has been in mis-used for many years? Does Gupta seriously believe Rs. One lakh is sufficient to undertake development?
Gupta has also failed to elucidate what powers yet have been transferred to the Panchayats? |
