| Symposium on environmental protection held | | | Early Times Report
REASI, Feb 7: District Information Centre, Udhampur organized an inter school symposium on the topic "Environmental Protection" in the premises of Govt. High School Kanjli in District Reasi.
As many as 12 Students of adjoining educational institutions participated in the contest and expressed their views on the topic. Chairperson WWF Jammu Chapter, Dr. C.M Seth was the chief guest on the occasion. Shilpa Rajput of Govt. Middle School Tanda clinched first position in the contest while Sapna Devo of Govt. Middle School Champanoo and Anjali Rajput of Deva Mai Public School bagged second and third positions respectively in the contest.
Two consolation prizes were also given. The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest called upon the young students to be active part of such campaigns especially designed for the protection of environment.
He urged for holding more such programmes in educational institutions for the general awareness of youngsters about the need of Environmental Protection. On the occasion a captivating cultural programme was also organized to aware the public about their noble responsibilities for the protection of environment.
Headmaster of the host institution, R.S. Manhas presented vote of thanks.
Among others, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Vice President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, Rakesh Wazir, staff and students in large number were presents on the occasion. |
