| Bhadrore Club enters finals of Sain Memorial T20 Cup | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 7: Sailing on a superb display of batting by Shammi and four wicket haul by Bhupinder Singh, Bhadrore Cricket Club defeated Gole Gujral Cricket Club by 6 wickets and sealed a berth in the finals of the Sain Memorial T20 Cricket Cup, being held at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Gou Manasan, near here. Batting first, Gole Gujral Club scored 135 for all in 18 overs. Vivek top scored with 36 runs including 3 fours and four sixes, while Ishan (29) and Raj Kumar (20) were the other notable contributors. Bhup-inder Singh was the pick of the bowlers from Bhadrore Club, who took 4 important wickets, while Vishal Singh Bhau and Vishu scalped 2 wickets each.Bhadrore Club, in reply chased the target easily in 17.1 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Shammi played a superb innings of unbeaten 66 runs with the help of 4 boundaries and five huge sixes. Bhanu Pratap (19), Vishal Singh and Bhalkar (14) runs each were the other three contributors. For Gole Gujral Club, Ishan scalped 2 wickets, while Deepu and Love claimed one wicket each. Shammi was declared man of the match for his superb batting display. The tournament is being organised by Gou-Manasan Cricket Club under the supervision of Davinder Kumar, Deepak Singh, Sunny Mehra and Rinku Verma. In all, eight teams drawn from Mishriwala, Muthi, Gole Gujral, Janipur, Bhadrore and Gou-Manasan are taking part in this tournament, which is played on knockout basis on Sundays and Holidays. |
