| J&K secures 3rd place in Kurash Championship | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 5: Jammu and Kashmir bagged overall third place in boys section in the two-day Ist Junior National Kurash Championship which was organised by J&K Kurash Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
Delhi with 26 points lifted the overall championship while Haryana remained runners-up obtaining 17 points. By bagging 7 medals including one gold, thus securing10 points in its account, J&K had to contain with third spot.
However, in girls section, Chandigarh emerged overall champion with 30 points, followed by Delhi at No. two position securing 26 points. Haryana girls remained third with 11 points.
On the basis of their performance, Vishal of Delhi and Meenakshi of Chandigarh were adjudged best players of the tournament in boys and girls sections respectively.
In the valedictory function, Minister for Sports, R S Chib was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.

BOYS: Below 56 Kg: Mohd Nowshed of Delhi, Ist; Sumit of Haryana, 2nd; Amandeep of Madhya Pradesh and Ashutosh Khajuria of J&K, joint 3rd. Open Weight: Vishal of Delhi, Ist; Karan of Punjab, 2nd; Manisha of Haryana and Sahil of Chandigarh, joint 3rd.
GIRLS: Below 44 kg: Poonam of Delhi, Ist; Sanakshi of Chandigarh, 2nd; Anmuradha of Assam and Zayda of Karnataka, joint 3rd. Open Weight: Meenakshi of Chandigarh, Ist; Naveen of Haryana, 2nd; Deepika of Delhi and Shesa of Karnataka, joint 3rd.
