Resumption of food supply in Dessa, Chenab valley demanded | | | Early Times Report Doda, Feb 7: Today Surjeet Singh Thakur, state general secretary Chenab Valley Peoples Association (CVPA) and in charge of Dessa Valley urged district administration Doda to resume the connectivity and food supply in Dessa. Dessa is a group of villages consisting of five panchayats viz. Thana, Gai, Shenkly, Bhata and Malan. The valley is totally disconnected from rest of the world from last fifteen days due to heavy snowfall in whole of the state including Chenab valley. Surjeet added that there is acute shortage of food grains in Dessa and district administration is sleeping deliberately as it also knows the fact. He also urged to the state government to supply food grains in the area as well as the other parts of Chenab valley. There is shortage of medicines, drinking water and other health facilities. Water connections are totally destroyed due to slides. Moreover, he added that only health centre of Dessa consists of only one doctor who is also absent from his duty and so causing inconvenience to the residents of Dessa. He warned the administration that if notice of the said circumstances is not taken as early as possible, CVPA will protest against the authorities/ government in whole of the state including University of Jammu. Among others who were present along with Thakur included Pawan Singh, district President Doda Vijay Rakwal, president GDC Doda, ,Dheeraj Singh, president GDC Bhaderwah and Romesh Rakwal, president Dessa Unit of CVPA. |
