| PDD employees along with kids take out protest rally | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 7: Hundreds of daily wagers of Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (PDD) today along with their children took out a protest rally from the office of the Chief Engineer in this winter capital of the state.
The children carrying placards and banners with slogans 'poora khana nahi milta', 'CM saab mujhe school se nikaal diya' and 'mere papa bahut gareeb hein', accompanied the protesting daily wagers in the rally this afternoon that culminated at Canal Head. Amid anti-government and anti-Omar Abdullah slogans, the PDD daily wagers demanded regularization and clearance of dues of need basis employees.
However, the kids also demanded regularization of the daily wagers and release of timely salaries.
About 12,000 daily wagers from across the state are supporting the ongoing agitation of the PDD daily wagers under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir PDD Daily Wagers Union that has entered the 57th day today seeking fulfillment of demands.Meanwhile the members of Chenab Hydro Power Projects Workers Union (CHPPWU), Unit Baglihar also supported the ongoing strike of PDD employees. The Union members condemned the government for not considering the demands of the agitating daily wagers.
J&K Sagram Sena today held a meeting with Ram Krishan President PDD daily wagers Kathua. The meeting was led by its president Ram Rattan Raina accompanied by Ram Pal Sharma, president Dogra Liberation Front, Capt. Rattan Singh, gen. secy. Sangram Sena and Rajesh Banathia, chief organizer Sangram Sena.
While speaking on the occasion, Ram Rattan Raina strongly condemned the attitude of state Govt. towards the PDD daily wagers who are on strike for last 54 days and even no representative from Govt. has come forward for talks. It shows that state Govt. is ignoring the IV class employees because they have no excess to higher authorities.
Further, Raina declared its full support to PDD daily wagers for strengthening their protest demonstration for the regularization of all the daily wagers who have completed their seven years of service. |
