Man acquitted of charges for abducting woman | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 7: Principal sessions judge Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal has acquitted one Vicky Bazigar of the charges of kidnapping a married woman. According to police case, on March 16, 2010, husband of the prosecutrix made a written complaint to police, stating therein that on the morning of March 14, 2010, he went to his routine business of selling soap in the surrounding villages but when came back home at about 6 pm, he found his wife missing. He later came to know that Vicky, allegedly with the help of his mother Samitri Devi, brother Sanjay Kumar and some other persons had kidnapped his wife and taken to some unknown place. Taking cognizance of the complaint, police registered the case and after completion of investigation presented challan in the court. The judge, after hearing both the sides, observed that since the woman had completely turned hostile and denied her kidnapping by the accused or any rape by him, the court was satisfied that the prosecution had failed to establish the case against the accused. "Accordingly, the challan fails and accused is acquitted of the charge framed against him," he ordered. |
