Bhalla lays foundation of Rs. 64 lakh dev works | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 8: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today laid foundation for development of cremation ground at Bhour Kullian, estimated to cost Rs. 50 lakh . The cremation ground would be completed with the facilities of cremation shed, waiting shed with benches, bathing ghat (Tootian), drinking water storage reservoir, approached road, besides boundary wall. Interacting with the people, Bhalla said the project would be completed by May this year. He asked the concerned Executive Engineer to use quality material on development works. He said the public money should be used to create durable assets and warned that wastage of the same shall not be tolerated at any cost. Later at Bhour Pind, the Minister inspected local Government Middle School. He asked the Chief Education Officer Jammu to immediately start the renovation work of the school building under Surva Shiksha Abhiyan funding. For fixation of roof tiles on the rooms, he asked the Executive Engineer R&B to prepare the estimates and submit the same for funding so that the work could be started soon. During his visit to Bhour Camp, Bhalla said that a plan of Rs. 1.80 crore has been formulated for the upgradation and construction of lanes, drains and Nallah in the area out of which Rs. 14 lakh has already been released for early start of the work. He said renovation of seven lanes and drains would be taken up in the first phase. He called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the project within stipulated time frame. |
