Chib inaugurates 2- Day mega Medical Camp asks people to take benefit of facility

JAMMU, Feb 8: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services & Sports R.S. Chib today inaugurated 2- Day mega Medical Camp at Village Baspur in Border Tehsil R.S. Pura.
The camp was organized by the Department of Medical Education, Government Medical College, Jammu in collaboration with Department of Health, ASCOMS, IGGDC and BSF.
Speaking on the occasion Chib said that the Coalition Government headed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was committed to strengthen the Medical and Health Care sector in the state for the benefit of the general masses.
"Provision for better health care facilities to the people of rural, far off and border areas of the State is the priority of the Government " he asserted , adding that holding of the 2-Day Mega Medical Camp in the border area was a step in this regard. He said besides check up and consultation, free medicines and diagnostic facilities would be provided to the patients, adding that the patient having major problems would be referred to Tertiary Care Hospitals or ASCOMS and will be treated on priority.
The Minister said with the personal efforts of Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad, besides sanctioning of 10 ANM schools, a Unani and Ayurvedic Hospitals are established in the state. He said that 200-Bedded Maternity Hospital, one each at Jammu and Srinagar is also coming up to ease the pressure at the existing maternity hospitals. Chib said that under Prime Minister Swasthya Yojna two Super Specialty Hospitals are also coming up in the State and will be commissioned soon. He said the BPL beneficiaries will have a card under Rashtriya Swasth Bima Yojana which would entitle them for free treatment upto the expenditure of Rs.30, 000.
The Minister announced that two such more Medical Camps will be organized at Maralian and Sai Village of R S Pura to provide health care facilities to the people of border Tehsil at their doorsteps.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister said that Socio-Economic Survey is being conducted and deserving beneficiaries will be incorporated in BPL List.
