| United Ladakh wins Ice Hockey titles | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 8: Beating the teams of Lalit group, United Ladakh today lifted both men and women titles in the Lalit Ice Hockey Tournament, organised by Lalit Suri Hospitality Group at Karzoo Ice Hockey Rink, Leh in Ladakh.
According to reports reaching here, the men's United Ladakh side outplayed their opponents from Lalit Group by four goals to two while the women's team blanked the same team 3-0 to make it a double title win.
The Lalit Group, through its initiatives, has been promoting tourism through sports and this time selected Ice Hockey as part of winter sports in the region.
Country's highest ice-skating rink at 3483 meters above sea level, Karzoo Ice Hockey Rink witnessed an enlivening and festive atmosphere. The match was cheered by thousands of locals.
Speaking to the gathering, chairperson and managing director of Lalit Suti Hospitality Group, Dr Jyotsna Suri said, "The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group had promised to the people of J&K that they will be back and give Leh its own unique festival. Today, we are happy to organize the ice hockey match here and would be hosting this every year as our annual event." |
