| Cong receives jolt in Rajouri as Qamar joins PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Feb 8: Giving a major jolt to Congress in Rajouri, one of its prominent leaders of the area Qamar Chowdhary has left the party and joined Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP).
As per reports, Qamar has joined PDP in the presence of party patron, president and senior leaders when he was accompanied by his supporters and party leaders from Rajouri.
It is to mention here that Qamar Chowdhary is an active political activist of the area and a popular figure among Gujjar community.
Sources said that Qamar was not having good relations with Congress high command over party mandate for Rajouri where during previous assembly polls present MLA and MoS Shabir Ahmed Khan was given ticket.
When ET contacted Qamar, he said that now he is a PDP leader and will support this party in future. |
