DDC reviews IPPI programme, PNDT Act | | | agencies KATHUA, Feb 9: To ensure successful implementation of Intensified Pulse Polio Programme (IPPI) with special emphasis on high risk areas for the year 2012 of Kathua district, District Development Com-missioner, Kathua, Ms Zahi-da Parveen Khan convened a meeting of District Task Force Committee here at conference hall today. Chief Medical Officer, Kathua R.K Chopra presented a detailed plan of IPPI Programme. The programme is scheduled to be held in two phases i,e on 19th to 21st Febr-uary and 1st April to 3rd across the state. Pertinent to mention here that the programme aims to target all the children aged (0-5 years) with special emphasis on children falling under high risk areas viz migratory population especially class of labourers working in brick kilns, slums, gujjar bakkerwals and floating population of labourers coming from other regions. The targeted population for the district to be covered in five blocks is 91,451 in Urban and 5, 23,960 in rural area. For immunization of the targeted population a total number of 561 booths will be established for area falling under high risk while 64 booths in rural and 7 booths in urban areas will be established to provide immunization under the programme. The performance of the programme during the last year was also discussed in the meeting and it was apprised that 88090 children's were immunized against the target of 89451 it was amounting to 98.48 % achievement. |
