3 mines recovered in Kupwara | Explosive, Ammunition Found in Baramulla | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 10: Three mines were recovered from an empty water tank in Kupwara district while army on Friday said that it recovered ammunition and explosives haul in Rafiabad area in another north Kashmir district, Baramulla. A police spokesman here said police detected three rusted mines from the empty water tank at village Trich Chek-i-Natnusa in the frontier district. The explosives were disposed of by the Bomb disposal Squad without causing any damages, the spokesman said while claiming that militants had dumped these explosives for subversive activities. Police has registered a case and further investigations are on, the spokesman added.Meanwhile, an officer of army's 32 Rashtriya Rifles claimed that troops recovered huge quantity of ammunition and explosives from a presumed militant hideout at Dooniwar forest area in Rafiabad. He said recoveries included 9 pistol magazines, one Chinese grenade, ten detonators, 210 Pika rounds, 645 Ak-47 rounds, 11 Ak-47 magazines and a wireless set. The officer said that ammunition and explosives were handed over to police. |
