| Police recovered liquor in Ramban,1 arrested | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 10: In its continued drive against illegal liquor sellers Banihal Police arrested a person namely Khadam Hussain S/o Abdul Qyoom Bahroo R/o Chapnari Banihal, who was selling illegal liquor pouches at Hollan link road Banihal. During search 28 pouches of liquor seized from his possession.. The accused has been arrested and a case FIR No. 13 of 2012 u/s 48 Excise Act got registered in Police Station Banihal. It is pertinent to mention here that after learning reliably, that some illegal selling of liquor is taking place in Banihal area, Sh. Abdul Qayoom, SDPO Banihal under the supervision of Sh. Anil Magotra, SP Ramban constituted a team of Police personnel to curb the evil designs of illegal liquor sellers in the area. The constituted Police team started searches in the area to nab the culprits and succeeded by registering 03 cases of Excise Act in last 03 consecutive days at Police Station Banihal in which a total of 134 illegal liquor pouches were recovered and 02 persons were arrested. During investigation it has been found that these arrested persons were habitual sellers and usually carry illegal liquor for selling purposes. The investigation of these cases is in progress and efforts are on to apprehend more culprits. |
