3-day All India Painters' Camp inaugurates at Kala Kendra | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 10:J&K Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) Jammu today organized a 3- day All India Painters' Camp at Kala Kendra Jammu in which the State Chief Information Commissioner G. R. Sufi was the chief guest.Speaking on the occasion, Sufi appreciated the initiatives taken by the JKCCA Jammu. He said that activities like this would certainly benefit the artist community and project their work at different platforms.About 40 artists from different parts of the country are participating in this camp. The main aim to organize such concepts is to bring closer the artists community from different corner of the country and to promote their talent in the field of painting. The programme organized to provide opportunity to the young people to work with senior artist as well as to know one another's art. The exposure would be exchanged between the artists of different regions of the country.Further the centre has scheduled to display the works created during this camp, at various places in the country, this giving opportunity to show the talent of the artists of the state to those of other states.Earlier, chief guest was welcomed by O. P. Sharma, Director of JKCCA. While highlighting the achievements of the centre he said that the centre has already organized State and National level programmes on art, literature and culture. He added that the centre is committed to provide platform to artists, writers and other such members at state and national level. G. R. Hasrat Gadda, Gen Secy, Funkar Cultural Organization was the guest of honour on this occasion where as Sohail Kazmi, Veteran Journalist and Secy, Press Club, Jammu was the Special Guest. They appreciated the role of the centre in promoting art, literature and culture.Prominent citizens from creative as well as civil society attended the inaugural event. |
