Taj blamed for 'sidelining' PCC Chief Prof Soz | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 10: The trouble for Minister for PHE Taj Mohi-ud-Din yet has not receded as the loyalists in the state unit of the Congress, led by the PCC Chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz, have expressed their concern over the way some party leaders, including a couple of ministers are not only sidelining the state party chief but also are maligning the name of the organization in state. A number of senior Congress leaders, belonging to the camp headed by Soz, said that the Party high command need to take notice of the style of functioning of the PHE Minister, Taj Mohiuddin, who has remained in constant touch with the Chief Minister and some senior functionaries in the AICC. Sources said that instead of explaining his position to the PCC Chief Taj has conveyed his views directly to the party high command and Omar Abdullah about allegations of corruption leveled against him. These congress leaders said that Taj Mohiuddin is leading another faction within the Congress. They suggested to the party high command to instruct Congress ministers to avoid sidelining the PCC chief while communicating their views to the AICC leaders. A senior Congress leader on anonymity said that since the Congress shares power with the National Conference the Congress ministers are supposed to take the PCC Chief into confidence while interacting with the NC leadership, including the Chief Minister. These leaders appreciated the party high command's decision on seeking report on Peerzada Mohd. Syed's involvement in exam-gate through the PCC Chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz. They however added PCC Chief Prof Soz should have been asked to submit a report about the charges of corruption leveled against Taj Mohiuddin. These leaders said that in the absence of effective intervention by the party high command for taming the dissidents the state unit of the Congress had become a laughing stock in the eyes of people in Jammu and Kashmir. They appealed to the party high command especially Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for revitalizing the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir. They have suggested to Sonia Gandhi to allow Mohan Prakash to spend longer time in the state and after securing views of party workers and supporters |
