J&K Police-B, JKPDC enter pre-quarters of Football | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 11: Jammu and Kashmir Police-B and J&K Power Development Corporation (JKDC) today sailed into the third round of pre-quarterfinals winning their respective matches in the 3rd Sher-e-Kashmir Gold Cup Football Tournament underway at GGM Science College ground, here. In the first match of the day, J&K Police trounced Engineers XI by five goals to two, courtesy three goals from Zulfikar. Helping the side to take early lead in the very second minute of the match, Zulfikar added two more goals to guide the team to a comfortable win. He struck in the 2nd, 16th and 40th minutes. Rakesh successfully converted a penalty kick awarded in their favour in the 11th minute while Sachin contributed a goal netting the ball in 73rd minute. From fighting Engineers XI, both the goals were scored by Nurbu in the 37th and 68th minute of the match. In another match played today, JKPDC blanked New Bharat 6-0. African Kumara Mussa completed his hat trick to make it a big win for the PDC. He struck in 30th, 40th and 60th minute of the match. Bilal also played well netting the ball twice in the 8th and 11th minute while Nainjyot Singh added one in 22nd minute. Today's matches were officiated by the penal of experts including Rajiv Dev (center), Suresh Gupta, Ricky Kumar, Mohd Shafi (center) and Rajesh Kumar. Meanwhile, according to the organizers, there will be no match tomorrow and two matches will be played on February 13 as per the already drawn fixture. |
