| Coalition has lost majority status: BJP | | | Jammu|Jan 17 Asserting that coalition government as lost its majority status after its alliance members voted against government, Bhartiya Janta Party State unit today said that it should resign on the moral grounds as it has no locus-standi to remain in power. Addressing a press Conference here today, Parties state president Ashok Khajuria said that after yesterday’s development where a private member Bill opposed by the government was passed with the support of coalition alliance members, the coalition has rendered into a minority government. Government should step down being unconstitutional and minority government, he added. He alleged that Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad intentionally remained absent during the voting and accused him of adopting appeasement policy to encourage separatist forces. Demanding abolition of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), he said the amendments sought in the Act is a calculated move to harass and blackmail the big houses and establishments which has also been observed in past few years. He said state BJP also demands abrogation of Article 370 as it is the only remedy for all troubles being faced by the sate. He said BJP has also decided to approach Governor to request him for dismissing the present government considering the recent developments which ahs rendered it unconstitutional. “Ghulam Nabi Azad-Mufti-Farooq trio in the state is watching the interests of communal forces/separatist forces and is not representing state properly’ the BJP president alleged and added it has lost the representative character, resign on moral ground also. He said BJP will take this issue on roads and will agitate and enlighten the masses about ‘mischievous designs’ of this government.
