| GDC Kathua hosts 'Alumni Meet' | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 11: Alumni Meet of GDC Kathua was held with great fanfare in which around 250 pass outs participated in the function it was a mega reunion.
The meet was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp followed by welcome address by the Principal of the College Dr Nater Singh who also gave a detail of the achievements of the college. During the meeting the office bearers of the Alumni association were elected. Prof Dhian Singh, Dr Nater Singh, Rajeshwar Singh, Sardar Khan, Pankaj Sharma and Dr Archana Bhagat were elected as President, Vice President, General Secretary, Organizing Secretary, Treasurer and Secretary respectively. Dr Hardev Gupta, SSP, JL Sharma, Suman Sharma, Rajinder Sharma, Dr Kewal and Dr Anirudh Rai were elected as executive members. The members unanimously elected Member of Parliament Ch Lal Singh as Chief patron while MOS Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, MLA Charanjeet Singh, former Minister Babu Singh, Ex-MLA Dhian Chand and Mukand Lal Sharma were elected as Patrons. Among prominent alumni namely Member of Parliament Ch. Lal Singh, Minister of State for Higher Education Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ex- Minister of State Babu Singh, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Dr Mohan Pal Singh Isher, MLA. Kathua, Charanjeet Singh, MLA Basohli Jagdish Spolia, MLC Subash Gupta, Commissioner Secretary Jeet Lal Gupta, Commissioner Vigilance PL Gupta, DIG Jagjit Kumar, DIG (Rtd.) BSF K.S. Sambyal, Brig Saran Singh, Ex Director Dr Sham Lal Gupta, SP J L Sharma, Joint Director Rajeshwar Singh, Principal Dr Ram Krishan, Principal Dr B L Gupta, Doctor M L Sharma, Doctor Kewal Banotra Doctor Parmod Gupta, Doctor Hardev Gupta and others too attended the occasion.
Earlier alumni were welcomed with a Guard of Honour by the NCC Cadets of the college. Students of the college enthralled the audience with a colorful cultural programme. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof Neelam Thappa while Dr N K Gupta presented vote of thanks |
